About Redmond Christian Church

We are a community of people following Jesus, caring about each other and encouraging one another to a deeper relationship with each other and with Jesus and sharing the gospel message to all that will listen.

What We Believe

We believe the following to be a sufficient summary of the non-negotiable core of the Christian faith as revealed clearly and plainly in Scripture.  This is the faith we hold in common.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, (2 Timothy 3:14-16)

without error in all of its teachings,

authoritative in all areas of life,

and sufficient for faith and the building up of God's people to maturity.

We believe in the triune God (2 Corinthians 13:14)

who has eternally existed in three distinct persons (Matthew 3:16-17)

coequal in power, majesty, divinity, and glory (Colossians 1:15-17)

the Father who created, sustains, and sovereignly rules over all creation,

  (Genesis 1:1)

the Son who was sent by the Father for the reconciliation of all creation,

  (John 6:38-40)

the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and Son (John 15:26)

to convict the world (John 16:8-11)

and empower God's people (John 16:13-15)

We believe humanity, both male and female from the moment of conception, (Psalm 139:13-16)

is made in the image of God, (Genesis 1:26-27)

but fallen and broken such that every human is a sinner (Romans 3:23)

by nature as well by thought, word and deed.  (Romans 5:12)

We believe the gospel,

that Jesus was born of a virgin (Luke 1:26-33)

    lived a sinless life, ( 2 Corinthians 5:21)

died on the cross as a sacrifice for sinners, (Romans 3:23-26)

was raised from the dead by the power of God, (1 Corinthians 15:3-5)

    ascended into heaven, (Acts 1:9-11)

and is coming again to judge the living and the dead, (2 Timothy 4:1-2)

restore all of creation, (Revelation 20:1-4)

give eternal life to his people, (Matthew 25:31-46)

and reign forever as King, (Matthew 25:31-46)

that salvation is a gift from God only available through Jesus, (Acts 4:12)

by the grace of God, (Ephesians 2:8-9)

to be received by faith as revealed in repentance, (Romans 1:16-18)

         confession, (1 John 1:9-10)

         baptism, (Galatians 3:23-29)

and a life of obedience to Jesus, (James 3:17)

We believe every follower of Jesus to be part of the global, timeless body of Christ, (1 Corinthians 12:12-14)

a universal church that is made visible and tangible in local congregations,

     (1 Corinthians 12:27-28)

where followers of Jesus covenant together (Hebrews 10:24-25)

to live out their faith, (Ephesians 4:1-3)

encourage one another, (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

             worship together, (Ephesians 5:18-21)

and work for the mission of God to reconcile the world to Himself.

            (Matthew 28:18-20)

CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

We believe church membership to be an important, life-giving part of the Christian faith.  Membership in a local church provides a visible, tangible picture of what it means to be part of the universal body of Christ.  In covenant membership, we live out our Christian faith together, encourage one another, lovingly hold one another accountable to faith in Jesus, bear one another's burdens, and reach out to a lost and broken world together.  Take a look at our Church Covenant .
