What We Believe
We believe the following to be a sufficient summary of the non-negotiable core of the Christian faith as revealed clearly and plainly in Scripture. This is the faith we hold in common.
We believe in the bible to be the inspired Word of God,
without error in all of its teachings,
authoritative in all areas of life,
and sufficient for faith and the building up of God's people to maturity.
2 Tim. 3:14-16
We believe in the triune God
who has eternally existed in three distinct persons
co equal in power, majesty, divinity, and glory.
The Father who created, sustains, and sovereignly rules over all creation.
The Son who was sent by the Father for the reconciliation of all creation.
The Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son to convict the world and empower God's people.
2 Cor. 13:14, Matt. 3:16-17, Col. 1:15-17, Gen. 1:1, John 6:38-40, John 15:26, John 16:8-11, John 16:13-15
We believe humanity, both male and female from the moment of conception, is made in the image of God, but fallen and broken such that every human is a sinner by nature as well by thought, word, and deed.
Ps. 139:13-16, Gen. 1:26-27, Rom. 3:23, Rom. 5:12
We believe the gospel,
that Jesus was born of a Virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for sinners, was raised from the dead by the power of God, ascended into heaven, and is coming again to judge the living and the dead, restore all of creation, give eternal life to his people, and reign forever as King.
That Salvation is a gift from God only available through Jesus, by the grace of God, to be received by faith as revealed in repentance, confession, baptism, and a life of obedience to Jesus.
Lk. 1:26-33, 2 Cor. 5:21, Rom. 3:23-26, 1 Cor. 15:3-5, Acts 1:9-11, 2 Tim. 4:1-2, Rev. 20:1-4, Matt. 25:31-46, Acts 4:12, Eph. 2:8-9, Rom. 1:16-18, 1 John 1:9-10, Gal. 3:23-29, James 3:17
We believe every follower of Jesus to be part of the global, timeless body of Christ, a universal church that is made visibly and tangible in local congregations, where followers of Jesus covenant together to live out their faith, encourage one another, worship together, and work for the mission of God to reconcile the world to Himself.
