what is family ministry?
Family Ministry at RCC exists for three main reasons:
The first is to exhort and equip parents to be the primary spiritual influencers in their kid's lives. There is no more influential person in the life of a kid than their parents. Due to this fact we place a high value on helping parents succeed in discipling their own kids. Our desire is to give parents the community and tools they need to successfully raise their kids to know and follow Jesus.
Second, we want to partner with parents in leading their kids to understanding and belief in the Gospel. We believe the church plays a very important role in teaching kids about Jesus. So, we offer classes and programs at age-appropriate levels to help reinforce the Gospel message that kids hear from their parents.
Last, we want to integrate families with greater church body. We believe that church is for everyone young, old and everywhere in between. It is our desire for families in our church to have opportunities to serve and participate together in church life.
What does family ministry do?
Family Ministry puts on weekly programs for students of all ages:
Sunday School (Toddler-5th Grade)- Families are invited to stay together during our Sunday morning worship gathering for our time of singing. Kids are then dismissed to age-appropriate Bible classes where they are taught the truths of the Bible, do crafts, play games, and have a fun time with our awesome Sunday School Team!
Youth Group (6th-12th Grade)- Every Wednesday night from 6:00pm-8:15pm students are invited to the church for dinner, games, and a time of teaching and discussion. Each week we gather together and discuss a big question of Christianity (Ex: Who is God? What is sin? etc.) As a whole we read Scriptures together and discuss these big questions. Then we break off into small groups lead by our Adult Leaders for further discussion.
